Youth Wellness Hubs Ontario (YWHO, www.youthhubs.ca) is a network of 27, integrated service hubs where young people ages 12 to 25 years have walk-in access to youth-centered, community based mental health and wellness services. This initiative engages youth, family members, service providers, and other partners through a co-creation process, ensuring services are designed and delivered according to their needs. The hubs are provincially-consistent in core features and locally led and adapted to offer and connect to a range of evidence-based services-mental health care, substance use, primary care, education, employment, housing, peer support, family support and care navigation-in youth-friendly spaces. Outcomes are rigorously evaluated within and across hubs, focusing on positive outcomes in areas of wellness important to youth and their families. The YWHO Provincial Office (YWHO PO) and its 27 Networks operate as a Learning Health System, where evidence, data, and care culture are used to generate new knowledge and continuously refine and deliver best practices for continuous improvement in mental health and substance use care.The ( ) is a safe and secure web application where youth aged 12-25 years in Ontario can receive access to timely, high quality, integrated youth services, including mental health and substance use services, as well as primary care, community and social support services that have been co-designed with youth and service providers from across Ontario.Position DescriptionThe YWHO Provincial Office is seeking an individual for a full-time, contract (12 months) position as a CH&E Specialist (Knowledge Mobilization Specialist, YWHO Virtual Hub) to support the expansion and enhancement of knowledge mobilization initiatives for the YWHO Virtual Hub. The Knowledge Mobilization Specialist will collaborate with the YWHO Virtual team to enhance the visibility and impact of the YWHO Virtual Hub by tailoring resources and outreach activities to engage a diverse range of service users and additional partners, including youth, family members, service providers and system initiatives. This position will also provide support the development and coordination of training and capacity-building initiatives related to the YWHO Virtual service delivery model and key competencies needed for the implementation of YWHO Core Components in relation to the YWHO Virtual Hub. The Knowledge Mobilization Specialist will support the creation, organization, and distribution of educational materials for key audiences including youth and service providers, working closely with team members, youth, family members, and partners to ensure resources are accessible, relevant, and effectively communicated to varied audiences.This role is ideal for a candidate who is passionate about mobilizing knowledge to drive impact, has experience in resource development, and excels in fostering strong, collaborative relationships with diverse partners to enhance the youth mental health and substance use system.ResponsibilitiesReporting to the Manager YWHO Virtual Services, the Knowledge Mobilization Specialist will coordinate activities to support the scale-up and enhancement of the YWHO Virtual Hub through equitable, culturally competent, youth-centered, and accessible knowledge mobilization strategies.Key responsibilities include:

  • Promotional and Outreach Initiatives: Plan and support promotions and outreach activities to increase awareness of and engagement with, the YWHO Virtual Hub among diverse communities across the province, including the development of outreach materials.
  • Training and Knowledge Exchange: Support the organization and delivery of training that builds team capacity for equitable, culturally competent, and youth-centered approaches for the delivery of virtual Integrated Youth Services, facilitating knowledge exchange to strengthen alignment with the YWHO Model.
  • Resource Development: Create, curate, and coordinate educational materials and knowledge mobilization resources for youth and services providers. Resources will be tailored to a culturally inclusive and youth-centered approach; ensuring information is clear, accessible, and relevant for diverse youth and communities.
  • Contribute to the enhancement of the YWHO Virtual Hub service delivery model and support implementation activities, including the onboarding and training of the provincial virtual service delivery team and integration of the platform across existing hub networks.

The Knowledge Mobilization Specialist may also provide support for select YWHO PO projects or initiatives as needed and contribute to a healthy workplace that embraces diversity, encourages teamwork and complies with all applicable and regulatory requirements. This position is located at the CAMH Queen Street site (80 Workman Way, Toronto).The successful candidate will have a Master’s degree in Public Health, Health Promotion, Education, Psychology or a related discipline, combined with three years of related employment experience. Familiarity with the mental health and substance use field and evidence of an understanding of system level issues within Ontario’s youth mental health and substance use system, social determinants of health and the principles of health equity would be considered an asset. The candidate must have demonstrated skills in knowledge mobilization including the development of resources, event planning/coordination, project management activities, and working with diverse interdisciplinary teams. You must have excellent organizational, planning and time management skills, with the ability to multi-task, produce and coordinate projects to meet deadlines. Youth engagement experience is essential, particularly in designing and implementing activities that actively involve youth in the development, sharing, and application of knowledge, ensuring that resources and strategies are accessible, inclusive, and tailored to diverse youth populations.A demonstrated ability to support collaborative partnerships and experience facilitating or contributing to program development and planning processes is required. Must have the ability to collaborate and work as part of a team, as well as function independently with minimal supervision. Demonstrated strong interpersonal, communication (oral/written) and creative problem-solving abilities are required. Demonstrated commitment to principles of equity, inclusivity, respect and social justice is required in addition to strong knowledge of Ontario’s mental health and addiction system/services. Experience in assisting teams with system change initiatives through facilitation, problem solving, collaboration and co-design and conflict resolution is required in addition to ability to translate various kinds of data, research and grey literature to non-academic target audiences. Demonstrated skills and commitment to data driven/evidence-informed decision making is required in addition to experience in program development including assessing needs, gathering information and developing solutions/recommendations for change.Strong PC software skills, including proficiency with Microsoft 365, are required. Experience with Canva, Adobe Creative Cloud applications and learning management systems is highly encouraged.CAMH is a fully affiliated teaching hospital and research institute of the University of Toronto.
