Chemical Operations Supervisor

Role Objective

Supervises and develops work teams and processes in order to meet business and customer needs while maintaining a whole system balance.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities

• Coordinate production tasks within and for the team (i.e. scheduling, purchasing, planning, maintenance, staffing, etc.)
• Post production in SAP
• Trouble-shoot processing and transport equipment including mix tanks, bulk tanker trucks, pumps, valves, heat exchangers, instrumentation, etc.
• Initiate and investigate Quality Notifications
• Develop processes and teams
• Coach teams and team members
• Facilitate team meetings and team development
• Provide resources for the team
• Champion continuous improvement
• Develop measures and data relating to performance
• Analyze data and provide the results to the team
• Maintain performance standards
• Identify and minimize scrap and waste
• Facilitate and teach the use of Quality tools
• Inspect and monitor work areas and employees’ behaviors for unsafe acts or unsafe conditions and take corrective action
• Provide a safe working environment, and promote employee well-being
• Completes training and maintains certification in First Aid
• Maintains facility security by setting alarms, performing walk-around inspections and coordinating security as needed
• Supervises spill control and remediation of any hazardous waste releases and monitors hazardous waste satellite accumulation areas to ensure compliance.
• Familiar with emergency procedures and equipment necessary to safely and effectively respond to an emergency involving hazardous waste.

education and Experience

Associate Degree in Business/Engineering or related field with three years supervisory experience in a team-based environment or five years supervisory experience in a team-based, process oriented, customer focused, quality conscious, production environment.

Supervision/Coordination

Coordinate performance and policies across all teams and personnel within the assigned Department. Coordination with other departments, as needed, to achieve the goals.

Compensation & Benefits

The expected starting pay for this role is between 63,000.00 – 86,600.00 per year. Within this range, an offer will depend on factors such as level of experience and technical competencies relevant to this specific role, as well as internal equity considerations.
