We are seeking a highly experienced Chief Engineer to provide senior-level technical leadership, advisory support, and engineering expertise to Government stakeholders across the full lifecycle of space control systems. This position plays a critical role in test planning, system integration, operational support, and capability development for highly classified ground, space, and C2 systems.
Responsibilities:
- Advise and assist the Government on Developmental and Operational Testing (DT/OT), including test planning, documentation, execution, and data analysis
- Coordinate and oversee system-level test integration and related activities
- Provide engineering and analytical support to developmental and operational space units
- Support mission planning, mission protection, and anomaly resolution efforts
- Contribute to post-mission analysis, reporting, and lessons learned
- Assist with data and signal collection, processing, storage, and analysis to inform operations and future developments
- Guide architecture development and assess capability limitations in space situational awareness systems
- Lead and coordinate technical design reviews, audits, and program documentation updates
- Master’s Degree in Computer Science, a related field or equivalent experience. 10 or more years applicable progressively complex systems design engineering experience,
- OR, Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, a related field or equivalent experience. 13or more years applicable progressively complex systems design engineering experience,
- Demonstrated expertise in classified space control systems, including space, ground, and C2 (concepts, development, build, and test)
- Proven experience maturing technologies through all Technology Readiness Levels (TRLs)
- Strong background in architecture design and technical requirements development
- In-depth knowledge of space situational awareness capabilities and limitations
- Broad expertise in systems engineering and program management, especially for information operations, space, and airborne systems
- Hands-on experience in space system design, integration, testing, and operations
- Familiarity with multiple space control technologies including optical sensors, radar, SIGINT, electronic support, and communications
- Deep understanding of the space control mission area and operational context
- Demonstrated ability to develop and manage ACAT-like program documentation
- Proven knowledge of ground system engineering, including design, development, integration, and testing
- Skilled in organizing and leading system-level design reviews and technical audits
- Active TS, SCI eligible, willing to take a CI Polygraph
