Chief Psychiatric Officer

As a Chief Psychiatric Officer, you will perform professional and administrative work by planning, coordinating, developing, and evaluating agency-wide psychiatric services. You will oversee policy development for individuals treated for mental illness. This will include:

• Establishing and developing consistent psychiatric service policies
• Implementing standards of care, drug formularies, and clinical quality and risk management reviews
• Assessing treatment and intervention protocols to maintain compliance with regulations
• Ensuring staff is trained in psychopharmacology, crisis intervention techniques, and therapeutic communication

In addition, you will serve as an expert resource to the Bureau of Health Care Services, participate in the credentialing and privileging process of psychiatric physicians, oversee clinical quality management programs, and assist with case management and mortality reviews.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

• Full-time employment, 37.5 hours per week
• Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday – Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.
• Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time, up to two days per week. You will report to the office 3 days per week. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Mechanicsburg, PA. The ability to telework is subject to change at any time. QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

• Four years of experience in the practice of psychiatry, and Board Certification in psychiatry by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology or the American Osteopathic Board of Neurology and Psychiatry.

Special Requirements:

• You must be in possession of an active unrestricted license to practice medicine in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania as issued by the State Board of Medicine or the State Board of Osteopathic Medicine.
• You must obtain an active DEA registration number to prescribe controlled substances from the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) as a condition of hire.

Additional Requirements:

• Successful completion of basic training in Elizabethtown, PA is required.
• You must be able to perform essential job functions.

• You must pass a background investigation and meet Criminal Justice Information Services (CJIS) compliance requirements.
