Job Title: Material Handler
Job Summary:
We are seeking an Inventory/Material Handler to join our team. The ideal candidate will be highly organized, detail-oriented, and experienced in handling large inventory items. This role is responsible for managing, tracking, and distributing materials, including long-length items, in a structured and efficient manner.
Key Responsibilities:
- Receive, verify, unload, and put away incoming inventory items (most items come in bundles that are 20’-0”+ in length).
- Identify and stage materials from existing inventory in the yard for our Anchor Bolt Shop using “Pick Lists” provided by the Purchasing Department.
- Move inventory items from the laydown yard to our Bolt Shop facility via forklift.
- Count, sort, identify, and store remnants from the Bolt Shop back into inventory.
- Transfer information in writing between the Bolt Shop and Purchasing Department.
- Maintain a tidy and organized inventory yard where all materials are clearly identified and counted.
- Conduct monthly cycle counts on current inventory items and report findings to the Purchasing Department.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Forklift experience Required
- Strong numerical and counting skills
- High attention to detail and accuracy
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask and manage priorities effectively
- Prior experience in inventory management is a huge plus
- Experience handling materials 20’-0”+ in length is a plus
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience using inventory management software
- Previous warehouse or yard experience
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift and move materials as needed
- Comfortable working in an outdoor yard environment
