An exciting opportunity has arisen for a highly motivated and enthusiastic individual to fill the role of Clinical Effectiveness Facilitator within the Clinical Audit Team at Cardiff and Vale UHB.In order to meet this challenging role, you will need to be confident, proactive and have an excellent working knowledge of the clinical audit process, including experience of facilitating both national and local clinical audit activity.Main duties of the jobThe post holder will work closely with clinical teams to provide comprehensive data management support/training to facilitate clinical audit activity and NICE guidance implementation, develop and maintain data reporting systems to improve the collection, analysis and reporting of all data to inform reviews and national registers included within the clinical effectiveness function of the organisation.The successful candidate will be a point of contact for information requests and queries with regard clinical audits and will ensure the clinical data source, collection, entry and transfer of information is of the highest standard and will be expected to develop the databases, systems and processes associated with them as the needs of the service changeThis position requires excellent analytical, verbal, written, interpersonal and organisational skills and a good working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications. Develop methodology rigorous clinical audit programme within relevant specialtiesin collaboration with Clinical Audit leads, relevant committees and management.2. Liaise and negotiate with clinical staff at all levels, to agree audit projectmethodologies, including project design, data collection methods and analyticalsupport.3. Support clinical audit activity through the collection, collation and presentation of data,from a variety of sources.4. Develop databases and collate and analyse data using Microsoft Office applications,such as Excel, and support the implementation and administration of the AMaT auditmanagement system to provide assurance to the Clinical Effectiveness Committee one.g National Clinical Audits, Patient Safety Priority Audits and NICE guidance5. Ensure audit activity is of a high standard and meets the requirements of departmentalstandards.6. Keep abreast of clinical audit and related research; evidence-based healthcare, clinicaleffectiveness, clinical governance issues and clinical guideline development in thespecialist areas relevant to the post.7. Communicate relevant local and national information pertaining to clinical audits andNICE guidance to the relevant specialty groups.8. Retrieve raw data from various sources, including medical records and informationsystems for the purpose of data analysis for clinical audit activity.9. Assist healthcare professionals in the facilitation of any changes required as a directresult of clinical audit activity.10. Adhere to and maintain Information Governance requirements in all local and nationalaudit work.11. Produce reports pertaining to clinical audit activity undertaken and ensure thedissemination of reports is undertaken effectively.12. Assist with the triangulation of data and intelligence arising from clinical audit activityto ensure this analysis drives the internal inspection programme in an appropriateevidence-based way.13. Provide oral presentations of Clinical Effectiveness activity/related work as required.14. Attend specialty Quality Improvement and Patient Safety meetings to provide adviceand support to healthcare professionals on all items covered by national clinical audits.15. Participate in Health Board wide audit projects and co-operate and collaborate withother team members across all areas of work when necessary.16. Adhere to departmental policies at all times.17. Represent the Health Board, both locally and nationally, at meetings pertinent tonational clinical audit activity.18. Manage and prioritise work in line with agreed schedules.
