The Clinical Engineering Technician I provides entry-level technical support for clinical, tissue processing, manufacturing, and cleanroom equipment, including support of steam boiler and RO/DI systems, by performing preventive maintenance, inspections, basic troubleshooting, and repairs. This role ensures safe, reliable, and compliant operation in accordance with regulatory, manufacturer, and organizational standards.

Shift: Monday – Friday, 9:00am-5:30pm

Minimum Requirements

education and experience

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • One to three years of experience in clinical engineering, biomedical equipment support, laboratory equipment maintenance, facilities maintenance, or a related technical role, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and hands-on experience.
  • Experience using computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS) required.
  • Proficient computer skills for documentation, communication, and work order management.

WORK ENVIRONMENT and PHYSICAL ACTIVITIES:

  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, crouch, and reach for extended periods of time.
  • Ability to lift, carry, push, or pull tools, equipment, and materials up to and occasionally exceeding 50 lbs.
  • Ability to work in clinical, laboratory, cleanroom, and equipment support areas.
  • Ability to wear required personal protective equipment (PPE) and follow cleanroom and infection control requirements.
  • Must be able to meet the physical demands of the position with or without reasonable accommodation.

LICENSES and OTHER REQUIREMENTS:

  • Must possess a valid driver’s license and meet driver insurability standards as established by the organization’s insurer.
  • Participate in on-call coverage as required; Technician I participation is limited and contingent upon training completion, demonstrated competency, and staffing needs.
