The University of Cincinnati, Hoxworth Blood Center, Quality Control Laboratory (QCL) is recruiting several full-time (100% FTE) Clinical Lab Scientists (Level 1 or 2) for first or second shift. We seek motivated individuals with strong critical thinking, communication, and independent work skills. experience in blood banking is preferred. Responsibilities include performing routine and complex quality control testing on blood and blood components, as well as high-level evaluation, review, and interpretation of test results. Candidates must be able to perform with minimal supervision, be proficient in computerized data entry and retrieval functions, and communicate effectively across departments.

Clinical Lab Scientist 1:
Required Education
Bachelor’s Degree in Medical Technology, Medical Laboratory Sciences, or Medical Laboratory Technology, or other related biological science.
Four (4) years of relevant work experience and/or other specialized training can be used in lieu of education requirement.
Required Trainings/Certifications
Require MLT or MLS Registry Eligibility and must obtain ASCP certificate within one year of date of hire.
Required Experience
No experience required.

Clinical Lab Scientist 2:
Required Education
Bachelor’s Degree in Medical Technology, Medical Laboratory Sciences, or Medical Laboratory Technology, or other related biological science.
Six (6) years of relevant work experience and/or other specialized training can be used in lieu of education requirement.
Required Trainings/Certifications
Require MLT(ASCP), MLS(ASCP), MT(ASCP), BB(ASCP), or SBB(ASCP).
Required Experience
Two (2) years of relevant experience.

Salary/Hourly Pay Rate Information: $28-$34 per hour, based on experience
