Job summaryTheResearch Fellow will come from either gastroenterology or general surgery (GIinterest) background and gain experience in many areas of research and inendoscopy practice. The endoscopy unit has an international reputation forresearch and innovation in endoscopy delivering the largest endoscopy trials inthe world. It offers bowel cancer screening and regional services includingdouble balloon enteroscopy, video capsule endoscopy and trans nasal endoscopy.This is a fixed term post until 1st August 2027.Main duties of the jobSupport the COLOSPEED studies including COLOCOHORT.Responsibility for study related medical support within own expertise and inconsultation with study Principle Investigators (PIs). Assist in thedevelopment of study protocols, grant applications and publications as directedby supervisor. Ensure studies are delivered in accordance with good clinicalpractice and study protocols.Liaisonwith the wider hospital teams such as laboratories, radiology, endoscopy,critical care, pain team, infection control, palliative care and oncology. Assist in the training and development of medicaland nursing staff on study requirements.Participate inresearch meetings.
