We are currently seeking an experienced Implementation Engineer to support the Department of Defense’s (DoD) Infrastructure Line of Business (IFLOB) mission. This position will focus on implementing, sustaining, and optimizing hybrid cloud infrastructure for the Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA).
As an Implementation Engineer, you will be responsible for implementing and deploying client solutions and infrastructure designs provided by the engineering team. You will work across physical and virtual environments (x86, SPARC-based UNIX, IBM zOS Mainframes, Unisys, Linux, Windows) to support more than 1,100 deployed solutions and 3,500 devices worldwide.
You will play a key role in ensuring solutions meet DISA’s Full Operational Capability (FOC) standards, supporting both CONUS and OCONUS engineering activities. This is a full-time, on-site position requiring an active Secret clearance.
On-site presence is required at one of the following DISA facilities (assigned based on need and availability):

• DISA Gunter-Maxwell AFB – Montgomery, AL
• DISA Fort Meade – Fort Meade, MD
• DISA Columbus – Columbus, OH
• DISA at Tinker AFB – Oklahoma City, OK
• DISA at Naval Support Activity – Mechanicsburg, PA
• DISA at Joint Base San Antonio – San Antonio, TX
• DISA at Hill AFB – Hill AFB, UT

Responsibilities:
 

• Deploy and implement engineered infrastructure and client hosting solutions.
• Integrate hardware and software into hybrid cloud environments.
• Transition systems to operational status in compliance with J-9 HaC and FOC standards.
• Provide hands-on infrastructure support across diverse platforms and classifications.
• Ensure compliance with federal and DISA guidelines (FISMA, NIST, RMF).
• Collaborate with engineering teams to support ongoing system capacity and performance goals.
• This is not a complete list of responsibilities.  Other tasks may be assigned as needed.

Qualifications:
 

• Active Secret Security Clearance (Required)
• Information Assurance Technical (IAT) Level II Certification (e.g., Security+ CE)
• DoD Cyber Workforce (DCWF) 8140 Compliant
• 3+ years of experience in infrastructure or implementation engineering roles.
• Experience with hybrid cloud computing models (IaaS, PaaS, SaaS).
• Proficient in networking concepts, cybersecurity principles, and risk management processes.
• Strong understanding of cloud deployment models (private, public, hybrid).
• Familiarity with DISA or other DoD environments highly preferred.

Performance Standards:

• Adhere to DISA and DoD technical and compliance guidelines.
• Work schedule: 8×5, Monday through Friday.
• Maintain project deliverables including:
• A001: Task Order Management Plan
• A002: Monthly Status Reports
• A003: Weekly Status Reports
• A004: Capacity and Performance Reports

Deliverables:

• Implementation and integration of infrastructure packages.
• Documentation of installation and deployment tasks.
• Status and performance reporting aligned with government standards.
