Work you’ll do/Responsibilities

• Application Development: Design, develop, and maintain COBOL applications on the AS400 platform, ensuring they meet business requirements and performance standards.

• Database Integration: Develop and optimize SQL queries, stored procedures, and triggers to support COBOL application functionality with DB2 databases.

• CL Programming: Write and maintain CL (Control Language) programs to automate and manage AS400 operations.

• Implementation: Utilize Implementor tools to manage and deploy application changes in a controlled and efficient manner.

• Debugging: Diagnose and resolve issues related to COBOL applications and DB2 databases, ensuring minimal downtime and data loss.

• Performance Tuning: Monitor and improve the performance of COBOL applications and DB2 databases.

• Documentation: Create and maintain comprehensive documentation for COBOL applications, database configurations, and CL programs.

• Communicate regularly with Engagement Managers (Directors), project team members, and representatives from various functional and / or technical teams, including escalating any matters that require additional attention and consideration from engagement management

• Independently and collaboratively lead client engagement workstreams focused on improvement, optimization, and transformation of processes including implementing leading practice workflows, addressing deficits in quality, and driving operational outcomes

Qualifications

Required

• 7+ years of Application Development: Design, develop, and maintain COBOL applications on the AS400 platform

• Strong experience in database integration: Develop and optimize SQL queries, stored procedures, and triggers to support COBOL application functionality with DB2 databases

• Strong experience in: Control Language programming, implementations, debugging, and documentation

• Bachelor’s degree, preferably in Computer Science, Information Technology, Computer Engineering, or related IT discipline; or equivalent experience

• Limited immigration sponsorship may be available

• Ability to travel 10%, on average, based on the work you do and the clients and industries/sectors you serve

  Preferred

• Analytical/ Decision Making Responsibilities

• Analytical ability to manage multiple projects and prioritize tasks into manageable work products

• Can operate independently or with minimum supervision

• Excellent Written and Communication Skills

• Ability to deliver technical demonstrations
