Collections Specialist

Job Title: Collections Specialist

Summary of Duties and Responsibilities:
As a Collections
Specialist, you will maintain
positive, professional interactions with borrowers in order to solve problems
and resolve loan delinquencies while also maintaining and promoting internal
bank relationships. You will handle payments, account research, and various
administrative tasks as you work with the team to find solutions.

What You’ll Do:

• The Daily Grind – As
  a Collections Specialist, you will communicate with past due customers through calls,
  letters and email to obtain payment commitments, make payment arrangements, identify
  and evaluate reasons for delinquency, and conduct research as well as order
  payment copies, credit bureau reports, statements, and credit applications as
  necessary. You will also be responsible for documenting all collection efforts
  and the reason for delinquency through bank systems, escalating calls and/or
  problem accounts to your supervisor, repossession, legal or collection agencies
  as appropriate, complete administrative tasks including letter generation, REO
  files, foreclosure/bankruptcy files, adhering to all federal, and state laws,
  regulations and policies and more!

What it Takes:

• Minimum one-year customer service or collection experience preferred
• Attention to detail
• Ability to travel for early career training purposes
• Ability to: communicate effectively (written and verbally), maintain confidentiality, work with speed and accuracy, grasp technical information quickly, and work independently and as a team member.
• Attention to detail and ability to work well in teams and individually.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel
