Communication Electronics Maintenance Instructor

Summary:
ATS is seeking a technically proficient and mission-ready Communication Electronics Maintenance Instructor to support the Amphibious Combat Vehicle (ACV) New Equipment Training Team (NETT) under the Program Manager Advanced Amphibious Assault (PM AAA). This role is responsible for delivering high-quality instruction on the configuration, maintenance, and repair of ACV communication and electronic systems in support of USMC amphibious operations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide instruction on the operation, functional administration, and configuration management of ACV communications and electronics systems.
  • Train service members on:
    • Diagnostic testing and interpretation of results
    • Identification and isolation of malfunctions in Line Replaceable Units (LRUs)
    • Removal, installation, tuning, and calibration of equipment and subsystems
    • Preventative and corrective maintenance procedures
  • Maintain and update lesson plans, instructional media, course documentation, and evaluation materials.
  • Conduct practical exercises and classroom instruction related to the ACV Family of Vehicles (FoV) and its associated training systems.
  • Support inspections, preventive maintenance, installation checks (OPCHECKs), and equipment readiness assessments.
  • Assist with inventory control and ensure compliance with technical and safety requirements during all instructional tasks.

Basic Qualifications:

  • U.S. Citizen with an active Secret Security Clearance.
  • At least 4 years of experience training service members in military communications or electronics maintenance.
  • Completion of the Marine Corps Instructor Development Course (IDC) or equivalent.
  • Ability to read, interpret, and teach technical documentation related to communications systems and subsystems.
  • Proficient in hands-on service and repair of radios, vehicle intercom systems, and digital electronics platforms.
  • Physically capable of executing maintenance tasks and participating in field training operations while wearing Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Prior experience with ACV or similar vehicle-mounted communications platforms.
  • Experience with system inspection protocols, electronics test procedures, and field-level troubleshooting in a military environment.
  • Familiarity with USMC maintenance doctrine, standards, and amphibious operations support requirements.
  • Prior military experience within the Stryker Combat Vehicle community as a communicator.

Working Environment:

The usual daily work conditions will be in an office environment located at Camp Lejeune, NC. The job requires occasional lifting of computer and other equipment, generally not in excess of 50 lbs., usually in connection with equipment transport to off-site locations for exercise events. This job also requires field time where the instructor will be required to supervise students from the Vehicle Commanders Station of an ACV during field exercises in the land and on water. The Instructor will be required to wear all PPE for extended periods of time when in the field. The exercise support staff typically travels with a high degree of frequency. Travel to training exercise locations regularly includes CONUS, its territories, with occasional international travel. Exercise duty may include extended work periods beyond 12 hours; air travel in excess of 18 hours on a single aircraft; outdoor working conditions; and driving for extended periods to work sites.
