WE ARE

DG COMP’s Unit 15 is a dynamic unit of 21 people, in charge of developing and implementing DG Competition’s (DG COMP) communication strategy. We provide a wide range of communication services to the Directorate-General, the Executive Vice-President and her Cabinet.

This includes external communication actions (such as outreach events, workshops and conferences, managing our public website, social media activities, press activities, production of audiovisual material and publications) as well as internal communication (maintaining the intranet site, organisation of internal events, internal news).

In addition to these communication actions, our unit is also in charge of coordinating the production of briefings for the EVP, the President and other senior management members.

We also are responsible for DG COMP’s Knowledge Management, the DG’s library, and we assist with research of information in the preparation of competition cases.

In our unit, we strive to maintain a friendly, cooperative, flexible and respectful work environment. We offer an interesting and challenging position as Communication Officer. This post covers a large variety of tasks, including drafting speeches, press materials, reports and other documents on topics covering the complete portfolio of the Executive Vice-President for a Clean, Just and Competitive Transition. Other tasks include organising press conferences; creating and implementing communication strategies; maintaining an EU presence across all media; monitoring media coverage; managing strategic and crisis communications.

WE PROPOSE

We are looking for a team player with solid background in communication and EU policies, particularly in the field of competition, energy, environment and climate.

The ideal profile for the job is a candidate with proven experience in journalism, media, or communication roles, with a strong focus on “Green policies”.

Prior experience as a media or communication advisor, including expertise in speechwriting and managing communications in high-pressure environments, is essential. Proficiency in English and Spanish is required, while knowledge of French will be considered an advantage.

The candidate should have a good understanding of political sensitivities and how to communicate on high stake policy files, should be able to autonomously work on a wide range of simultaneous projects, be able to manage stressful situations and be proficient, even when working under tight deadlines.
