The incumbent will independently manage and provide technical direction in conjunction with faculty program directors for the new Community and Collaborator Engagement program within the UC Davis Clinical and Translational Science Center (CTSC). This program provides cross-cutting education, consultation, and research activities to meaningfully co-develop and co-execute research to improve outcomes for the many communities in which the CTSC serves. To ensure that health data, discoveries and implementations are responsive to the concern and lived experiences in our society, the Community and Collaborator Engagement focuses on integrating these perspectives in biomedical, clinical, and applied health research. The director will be supervised administratively by the Directors/PIs of the CTSC in a matrix environment. Scientific oversight will be provided by the CTSC PIs and the faculty directors and leads. The program director will develop goals, policies, and procedures for the program and participate in their implementation and strategic administration directly and through oversight of professional program staff.
The program director will be responsible for prioritizing tasks, participating in analyses of data and presentation of findings, interpreting results, and drafting summary reports and papers. He/she will work with investigators, staff, mentees, administrators, and directors of other centers on research-related tasks including collecting and analyzing data, working with their counterparts in other CTSA institutions nation-wide, and participating as co-author manuscripts for publication in scientific journals. Deliverables include, but are not limited to:
