  • Evidence of personal and professional development
  • Evidence of a leadership/management course or equivalent

Desirable

  • Masters degree/equivalent postgraduate experience

ExperienceEssential

  • Relevant and recent experience in Community midwifery services.
  • Experience in line management and leadership
  • Experience of multidisciplinary working
  • Ability to demonstrate involvement and experience in change management
  • Ability to address complex issues and evidence of dealing with these in a planned manner

Desirable

  • Experience in budget management

KnowledgeEssential

  • Evidence of knowledge of current professional perinatal issues
  • Understanding of National Maternity and neonatal agendas
  • Applicable knowledge of NMC rules that governs effective and safe practice
  • Evidence of involvement in audit cycles and review of practice
  • Understanding of Perinatal governance processes
  • Ability to demonstrate understanding of human factors

Desirable

  • Demonstrates understanding of HR processes relevant to staff management
