Compliance AnalystShift Pattern: Standard 40 Hour Week (United Kingdom)Scheduled Weekly Hours: 40Corporate Grade: D – Assistant Vice PresidentReporting Line: (UK Division) Regulation and ComplianceLocation: UK-LondonWorker Type: PermanentOverall Purpose of the role:To maintain the core compliance program, with particular focus on monitoring and testing (scoping, review writing and issue management), training and policy development, for the LME Group, reporting into the Head of Core Compliance.Responsibilities:
- Further develop and enhance the enterprise-wide compliance framework and actively monitor and maintain LME’s and LME Clear’s compliance with its regulatory requirements
- Support the Head of Core Compliance in the governance of the LME Group Compliance Monitoring Programme (“CMP”). This will include the management of the annual CMP Plan, CMP governance documents and methodologies.
- Ensures testing is completed identifying the existence and effectiveness of controls on a risk-based approach. Ensure that potential issues identified are investigated and reported, with mitigation plans put in place for timely resolution
- Ensure the consistency of the LME/LME Clear compliance programme with Group compliance policies and procedures. Formulate, deliver and review the LME’s/LME Clear’s compliance policies in accordance with regulatory and legal obligations
- Work closely and cooperatively with the business, to ensure that all business, operational and technology areas of the LME/LME Clear have a clear understanding and ownership of their compliance obligations
- Assist in developing and enhancing the business in a legally-compliant manner
- Provide support and training for the business on compliance obligations as necessary
- Work closely with HKEX (parent company) compliance team and other HKEX teams as necessary, to ensure that policies and processes are aligned, are not duplicative, and are streamlined to be as business-friendly as possible across LME and LME Clear.
- Foster trust between Compliance and the first line
Qualifications Required:
- Excellent academic record
Knowledge and Experience Required:
- Strong experience of working in compliance within Financial Services (min 3-5 years)
- Knowledge of and practical experience of existing UK compliance requirements is essential, especially around monitoring and testing of controls and procedures.
- Knowledge of scoping testing reviews, writing reports, documenting evidence and issues and tracking remediation
- Experience and technical ability to develop into an SME in one or more of the following areas is highly desirable: clearing compliance, operational resilience, FMI governance, technology
- Knowledge and practical experience of REC (FCA Handbook in relation to RIEs) and EMIR (in relation to CCPs) is not essential but highly desirable
