Agency Overview
The Division of Capital Asset Management and Maintenance (DCAMM), which oversees over $2 billion in capital programs and projects, is responsible for capital planning, project delivery, property management, and real estate services for the Commonwealth. DCAMM is a central agency in implementing several key policy priorities of the Healey-Driscoll Administration, including promoting decarbonization and climate resilience in all state facilities, identifying and facilitating opportunities to repurpose underutilized state property for housing production, and increasing the participation of underrepresented groups in public construction contracting and in the public construction workforce.
Position Summary
The Construction Coordinator IV (CC IV) is a Project Coordinator within DCAMM’s Office of Design and Construction. The incumbent is charged with managing the planning, design, and construction of new facilities and renovation projects for various Commonwealth Agencies with overall primary focus on project management including, but not limited to, oversight, quality assurance, documentation, monitoring costs and contract closeout.
The incumbent’s responsibility is the management of capital projects including building and feasibility studies and schematic design through construction administration for a wide variety of project types including new construction, major and minor renovations, modular buildings, energy conservation improvements, handicapped accessibility upgrades, environmental remediation and other related tasks. Design-bid-build and Construction Management (CM) @ Risk are the primary procurement methodologies, but design/build, public/private partnerships and other alternative methodologies may be employed.
General Statement of Duties and Responsibilities
Preferred Qualifications
First consideration will be given to those applicants that apply within the first 14 days.
Applicants must have (A) at least ten (10) years of full-time or equivalent part-time experience in trades, construction, construction management, inspection and/or alteration of building construction projects, of which (B) at least three (3) years must have been in a supervisory or leadership capacity; or (C) any equivalent combination of the required experience and the substitutions below.
Incumbents are required to have a current and valid Motor Vehicle Driver’s License at a Class level specific to assignment.
Substitutions:
I. An Associate’s degree or Technical degree in a related field may substitute for one (1) year of the required non-supervisory experience.
II. A Bachelor’s degree in a related field may substitute for four (4) years of the required non-supervisory experience.
