BACKGROUND
Purpose of Activity/Assignment:
The Global Nutrition Cluster (GNC) is a holistic platform of support for nutrition preparedness, response, and recovery for humanitarian emergencies. This common global mechanism endorsed by over 40 GNC partners provides systematic, predictable, timely, and coordinated nutrition assistance to meet the nutrition rights and needs of people affected by emergencies.
The GNC is a global resource for NiE programme and coordination / information management support and constitutes a platform for learning and development. With a strong focus on localization, collectively with its network of partners, the GNC provides comprehensive support to nutrition practitioners especially to local and national actors who are working close to communities negatively impacted by the consequences of conflict and climate induced shocks.
As part of the evolution in ways of working, a new GNC Operations Team has been created composed of global and country facing operation functions to support the overall operations of the GNC, which includes coordination, information management and NiE programmes. The GNC Operations Consultant will be responsible for supporting the effective functioning of the GNC Operations Team and its various activities in delivering technical support to countries affected by crisis. The Operations Consultant will report to the GNC Operations Team Technical Lead.
Scope of Work:
The main purpose of this consultancy is to provide support to the efficient functioning of the GNC Operations Team.
The following expected results include:
• Information and knowledge management and administration support to the GNC Operations Team.
• Support to planning, monitoring and evaluation, including metrics for quality of services delivered.
• Development of key reports for different stakeholder groups, and presentations for advocacy and reporting purposes.
• Administrative support of knowledge management and learning and other GNC events.
• Support for resource management, including developing donor reports and coordinating report writing processes.
• Support financial planning and budgeting.
Terms of Reference / Deliverables
1. Information Management and Administrative support to the GNC Operations Team
– Planning of 24 Operations Team meetings.
Specific output:
• 24 agendas developed, documentation of action points, and supporting follow up.

• Incorporate Operations Team KM & L priorities into four relevant workplans with GNC Communication Team and ENN.

Qualifications
(1) Education
(2) Knowledge/Expertise/Skills required:
• A minimum of five years’ experience in administration required.
• Demonstrable experience in Monitoring and Evaluation required.
• Organizational, planning, and prioritizing skills and abilities required.
• Demonstrable experience in financial management an asset
• Knowledge of UNICEF financial systems an asset
• Excellent writing and formatting skills required.
• High sense of confidentiality, initiative, and good judgment required.
• Ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders required.
• Ability to work in a team environment to achieve common goals required.
• A high level of competence MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint and other software such as SharePoint an asset.

U.S. Visa information:
With the exception of the US Citizens, G4 Visa and Green Card holders, should the selected candidate and his/her household members reside in the United States under a different visa, the consultant and his/her household members are required to change their visa status to G4, and the consultant’s household members (spouse) will require an Employment Authorization Card (EAD) to be able to work, even if he/she was authorized to work under the visa held prior to switching to G4.
