The Health, Nutrition, and Population Division (SCL/HNP) is seeking a professional with a background in economics or social sciences and experience in project monitoring and evaluation.
The Inter-American Development Bank (IDB), established in 1959, is the largest source of financing for economic, social, and institutional development in Latin America and the Caribbean. The IDB provides loans and technical assistance to both the public and private sectors.
The Social Sector (SCL) has a multidisciplinary team committed to the belief that investing in people is the key to improving lives and overcoming development challenges in Latin America and the Caribbean. Together with the countries in the region, the Social Sector develops public policy solutions to reduce poverty and improve the quality of education, employment, social protection, and health services received by citizens. The Sector’s work aims to foster a more productive region with equal opportunities for men and women and greater inclusion of the most vulnerable populations.
The Health, Nutrition, and Population Division (SCL/HNP) is responsible for the preparation and supervision of IDB operations in borrowing member countries in the areas of health, nutrition, and population. This includes developing strategies for health capital investment, strengthening health networks, health system financing, organization and performance, among others. Currently, HNP manages a portfolio of 41 projects.
