The purpose of this consultancy assignment is to strengthen UNICEF’s engagement with faith-based and membership organisations to complement their funding, by fully leveraging integrated offerings on non-financial engagements, including better utilizing the advocacy engagements and social behaviour change resources; and developing a thought leadership strategy. The consultant will ensure that UNICEF’s strategic objectives are advanced through effective partnership, resource adaptation, and thought leadership within the faith sector
How can you make a difference?
Scope of Work:
The Consultant will support UNICEF’s efforts to strengthen financial partnerships with faith-based and membership organisations, with a focus on how we can better incorporate their influence as part of the value offering. Under the supervision of Partnerships Specialist, the Consultant will collaborate closely with colleagues in Advocacy, Social and Behaviour Change, and Global Partnerships teams.
Key Responsibilities:
Work Assignments Overview & Deliverables
Develop a toolkit signposting existing assets from Social Behaviour Change and Advocacy, that can be used or helpful for faith and membership Partners
Deliverable 1: Directory on SharePoint with guidance note for fundraising colleagues, is developed, By end Feb 2026
Coordinate a faith-led advocacy and fundraising activations on the moral case for aid
Deliverable 2: Develop and deliver a Faith-specific engagement plan, aligned with DGCA activations and funding propositions, By end March 2026
Adapt existing Social Behaviour Change toolkits for faith and membership partners
Deliverable 3: Develop and finalize at least two Social and Behaviour Change (SCB) toolkits, each peer-reviewed and approved by the SBC, By end June 2026
Develop a faith thought leadership strategy, with the key opportunities for UNICEF to provide thought leadership in faith led convenings
Deliverable 4: Written strategy document with calendar of events is developed, By end June 2026
Planning of Faith Leadership Circle events
Deliverable 5: Prepare and deliver all event documentation – including agendas, content, logistics, and post-event reports for two online and one in-person event, By 14 November 2026
Provide a final report summarizing achievements, challenges, and recommendations
Deliverable 6: Submit a final report summarizing key achievements, challenges encountered, lessons learned, and actionable recommendations, By 14 November 2026
Reporting Requirements:
Payment will be made on submission of an invoice and satisfactory completion of the above-mentioned deliverables. UNICF reserves the right to withhold all or a portion of payment if performance is unsatisfactory, if deliverables/outputs are incomplete, not delivered or for failure to meet deadlines. All materials developed will remain the copyright of UNICEF and UNICEF will be free to adapt and modify them in the future.
Consultant’s Workplace and Official Travel:
The Consultant will be remote/home-based. As part of the assignment, there is a possibility of travel during the assignment on a per need basis and this will be covered separately by UNICEF, and not included in the lump sum fee. The consultant will arrange her/his travel as and when they take place, and related costs will be reimbursed per UNICEF travel policy.

Remarks:
Please indicate your all-inclusive (lump sum) fees in USD against the deliverables listed above, including all associated administrative and travel costs (if applicable), in the cover letter. The office selects the individual based on best value for money.
Payment of professional fees will be based on submission of agreed deliverables. UNICEF reserves the right to withhold payment in case the deliverables submitted are not up to the required standard or in case of delays in submitting the deliverables on the part of the consultant.
Only shortlisted candidates will be contacted and advance to the next stage of the selection process.
Individuals engaged under a consultancy or individual contract will not be considered “staff members” under the Staff Regulations and Rules of the United Nations and UNICEF’s policies and procedures and will not be entitled to benefits provided therein (such as leave entitlements and medical insurance coverage). Their conditions of service will be governed by their contract and the General Conditions of Contracts for the Services of Consultants and Individual Contractors. Consultants and individual contractors are responsible for determining their tax liabilities and for the payment of any taxes and/or duties, in accordance with local or other applicable laws.
The selected candidate is solely responsible to ensure that the visa (applicable) and health insurance required to perform the duties of the contract are valid for the entire period of the contract. Selected candidates are subject to confirmation of fully-vaccinated status against SARS-CoV-2 (Covid-19) with a World Health Organization (WHO)-endorsed vaccine, which must be met prior to taking up the assignment. It does not apply to consultants who will work remotely and are not expected to work on or visit UNICEF premises, programme delivery locations or directly interact with communities UNICEF works with, nor to travel to perform functions for UNICEF for the duration of their consultancy contracts.
