The main purpose of this assignment is to enhance the engagement and management of global multi-generational families by developing and implementing strategic initiatives, communication strategies, and events that align with UNICEF’s philanthropic goals. This includes developing new family engagement opportunities specifically designed for age groups and/or generations currently not served by any offerings and leading and growing the global NextGen Principals community; creating content that effectively communicates the impact of family philanthropic donations and engagements; planning and executing donor engagement events, such as the Global NextGen Summit and other regional events. Additionally, the role involves collaboration with various teams and stakeholders to ensure effective stakeholder engagement and continuous improvement within the Global Philanthropy team and collaboration with other teams.

Scope of Work
The incumbent will report to the Global Family Philanthropy Manager and be responsible for the following four key areas of work:
Work Assignment Overview & Deliverables
The Consultant will work under the supervision and report to the Fund Raising Manager, based in Geneva. Further engagement may come in the form of communication with the other potential team members from UNICEF who will be identified separately. Additional relevant UNICEF staff from headquarters, national committees, and regional/country offices may be consulted throughout the process.
1. Development of Family Engagement Opportunities:
Support the design and implementation of programs that engage philanthropic families across multiple generations, focusing on developing opportunities tailored to specific age groups and those generations currently without engagement plans and integrating these offerings into a cohesive, ongoing family philanthropy experience. Ensure these offerings are adaptable to both global and market-specific needs. A report on progress vs work plan and achievement of following KPIs is required on a monthly basis. KPIs:
1. Support the development of 2 age-specific engagement offerings, focusing on adolescence and young adults, conceived as an integral part of the broader family philanthropy approach
2. Support the collection and measurement of feedback from participants regarding programme relevance and satisfaction, segmented by generation
3. Support selected National Committees or Country Offices in customizing and piloting the offerings in their markets
2. Coordination and Expansion of the NextGen Principal Community and Support for National NextGen Programmes:
Expand the NextGen Principal community by targeting high-potential members and fostering connections within billionaire networks. Provide strategic support to national NextGen programmes to secure significant gifts from NextGen members and their families. Deliver individualized and group training to Major Gifts Officers (MGOs) and other key staff on how to effectively work with the next generation of donors. A report on progress vs work plan and achievement of following KPIs is required on a monthly basis. KPIs:
1. Work with National Committees and Global Philanthropy team to identify and onboard 5 new Global Principals from UHNW families and engage 2 NextGen Principals and/or their families in the International Council
2. Develop and host 4 NextGen Global Principal meetings (2 in person and 2 virtual) and 4 UNICEF programme vertical meetings per year with Principals.
3. Develop and execute the $1.2M Principal fundraising match for the Today and Tomorrow Initiative
4. Support relationship leads in Principal member solicitations $25K+/year with $1M fundraising goal per member and support in the development of 5 family giving plans.
5. Meet monthly and strategize with NextGen National Programme National Committee leads to support their local programs and $9M fundraising collective goal and meet quarterly with 4 growing markets (i.e. ECARO, LACRO) for NextGen and Global Principal prospecting.
6. Conduct quarterly KPI surveys and data from NextGen Rep and National Programmes and deliver impact reports.
7. Conduct 3 collective MGO trainings on how best to attract and work with the next generation of major donors.
3. Development of Communication Plans and Content:
Design and implement effective communication strategies for family philanthropic engagement, including the NextGen program. Collaborate with program managers to ensure the content reflects program objectives and resonates with target audiences, thereby improving donor engagement and the overall donor experience. A report on progress vs work plan and achievement of following KPIs is required on a monthly basis. KPIs:
1. Expand and refine NextGen materials package including monthly HV Marketing meetings and the development of the NextGen global monthly social media posts, Principal HV marketing and highlights, i.e. conduct interviews and develop pitches for articles in key outlets and on UNICEF leadership’s LinkedIn to celebrate existing members and attract new next gen-aged donors
2. Support the development of contents related to family philanthropy engagements, such as SD Family Tours, VDEs, and other offerings
3. Assist in the development of Family Philanthropy Case Studies series to be shared with MGO community
4. Create assets and presentations on Family Philanthropy and NextGen offerings to be shared at FP Community of Practice calls, GP newsletters and calls, VSS.
4. Event Coordination for Family and NextGen Engagements:
Plan and deliver high-impact events, including the annual Global NextGen Summit, designed to create meaningful experiences for current and prospective donor families. Manage all aspects of event logistics, from concept to execution, ensuring alignment with the organization’s objectives and philanthropic mission. Ensure each event is strategically planned to enhance donor engagement and support long-term philanthropic goals. A report on progress vs work plan and achievement of following KPIs is required on a monthly basis. KPIs:
1. Develop in collaboration with NextGen NatComs and Country Office and execute best in class NextGen Global Summit with a target of 7 billionaire families represented and 30-50 global attendees.
2. Map out ‘NextGen Rep” strategies for countries without a NextGen program to use Summit as prospecting tool and solve for NextGen capacity limitations at the country level, with target of 4 new markets with 1-3 NextGen Reps and 5 new UHNW family prospects attending the Global Summit.
3. Support the development and execution of two regional Family and NextGen events

Remarks:
Please indicate your all-inclusive (lump sum) fees in USD against the deliverables listed above. If there is a need for business travel, the travel costs will be covered by UNICEF separately. The office selects the individual based on best value for money.
Payment of professional fees will be based on submission of agreed deliverables. UNICEF reserves the right to withhold payment in case the deliverables submitted are not up to the required standard or in case of delays in submitting the deliverables on the part of the consultant.

Individuals engaged under a consultancy or individual contract will not be considered “staff members” under the Staff Regulations and Rules of the United Nations and UNICEF’s policies and procedures, and will not be entitled to benefits provided therein (such as leave entitlements and medical insurance coverage). Their conditions of service will be governed by their contract and the General Conditions of Contracts for the Services of Consultants and Individual Contractors. Consultants and individual contractors are responsible for determining their tax liabilities and for the payment of any taxes and/or duties, in accordance with local or other applicable laws.
The selected candidate is solely responsible to ensure that the visa (applicable) and health insurance required to perform the duties of the contract are valid for the entire period of the contract.
