An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Consultant Psychiatrist to join the team at the North Ceredigion Community Mental Health Team. Hywel Dda University Health Board is looking for a dynamic and enthusiastic Consultant to join colleagues in a very dynamic and forward looking mental health service.The successful applicant will provide clinical expertise and strategic leadership as we look to develop our mental health services to meet the population needs of Hywel Dda UHB.To provide, with consultant colleagues (as appropriate) a service in Adult General Community Psychiatry and supporting the development of sub-speciality interest to the hospitals and community so designated with responsibility for the prevention, diagnosis and treatment of illness.Main duties of the jobIntegral to the responsibilities of the post are the following requirements: –To ensure the provision and delivery of a first class clinical serviceTo provide effective leadership to all staff engaged in the specialtyTo sustain and develop teaching and research wherever appropriateTo conduct clinical practice in accordance with contractual requirements and within the parameters of the Health Board’s service plansCore clinical expertise in Adult General PsychiatryGeneric skills in multidisciplinary assessment and community management of acute and chronic mental health problemsExperience and knowledge of running a sub specialty serviceSupporting and training multidisciplinary teamsDelivering care in the community alongside primary health care and social care teamsAddressing the Intermediate Care AgendaParticipating in CPD including AuditMaintain good standing with Royal College for CPD.You are expected to maintain your professional development for RevalidationEducational Supervisor role to Junior and Middle Grade Medical StaffTo undertake regular multidisciplinary clinical audit and provide evidence based medicineAbout usHywel Dda University Health Board is the planner and provider of NHS healthcare services for people in Carmarthenshire, Ceredigion, Pembrokeshire and its bordering counties.
