Patients can be brought to outpatient area when the prison regime moves out of lockdown. The postholder will be expected to attend clinical team meeting on Tuesday or Wednesday, attend relevant prison meetings for complex cases as required.The post holder will be expected to provide direct psychiatrist input into prisoners suffering from mental disorder. This will include providing outpatient appointments and also an element of crisis and risk management. It will involve contributing to weekly MDT meetings with partnership agencies in the prison and also chairing a weekly zoning meeting/caseload review with the mental health team. In addition, the post holder will be expected to contribute to Parole Hearings and meetings where requested and coordinate referrals and transfers to outside agencies and hospitals where needed.
