UNICEF Thailand Country Office (TCO) is creating a roster of professional photographers for assignment of taking photographs of children and UNICEF-related work in Thailand for communication, fundraising, and programmatic purposes. The roster shall be valid for 36 months.
Work assignments:
To take photographs of children and UNICEF-related work in Thailand. Photos will be used for UNICEF communication, fundraising, and programme materials.
In support of the Communication section planned activities, the consultant(s) will undertake the following work assignments:
– Take photos and provide edits (colour correction, etc.) in digital files, along with photo captions.
– Provide a set of selected photos, and all of the photos taken, as per brief.
– Work with Senior Communication Associate on other photography-related work.
The working arrangement is home based.

Deliverables/outputs:
A set of selected photos, and all photos, with full captions
Delivery deadline and input days to complete deliverables:
Within 7 days after the assignment
Duration of Contract: The roster shall be valid for 36 months. The duration will be determined on a needs basis and a contract for the consultant will be raised for the period in which he/she is needed.
Duty Travel: Approximately 3 trips per year

Minimum requirements:
Minimum Qualifications required: Bachelor’s degree in Arts, Communication, Media, Journalism, or any other related field. A degree in any field will be considered if accompanied by relevant training or years of experience in photography or visual storytelling.
Years of Experience/ Knowledge/Expertise/Skills required:
– Fluency in Thai language is required
– Expertise in photography with at least 8 years of experience especially in documentary/photography area
– Able to provide good storytelling through photo essays
– Flexible to travel to other provinces
– Creative and easy to work, sensitive to children and children’s issues
– Base in Thailand during the time of the assignment (UNICEF does not provide airfare/travel expenses for applicant to start the work in Thailand if he/she is based overseas)
Technical Evaluation Criteria:
Financial Proposal:
The financial proposal of the technically qualified consultants with the justified fee rate will receive the maximum 25 points. Applicants securing over 80 points in cumulative evaluation (technical + financial) will be recommended as candidates for the subject consultancy.

Individuals engaged under a consultancy or individual contract will not be considered “staff members” under the Staff Regulations and Rules of the United Nations and UNICEF’s policies and procedures, and will not be entitled to benefits provided therein (such as leave entitlements and medical insurance coverage). Their conditions of service will be governed by their contract and the General Conditions of Contracts for the Services of Consultants. Consultants are responsible for determining their tax liabilities and for the payment of any taxes and/or duties, in accordance with local or other applicable laws.
The selected candidate is solely responsible to ensure that the visa (applicable) and health insurance required to perform the duties of the contract are valid for the entire period of the contract. It does not apply to consultants who will work remotely and are not expected to work on or visit UNICEF premises, programme delivery locations or directly interact with communities UNICEF works with, nor to travel to perform functions for UNICEF for the duration of their consultancy contracts.
