About The Role 

You would be joining a fast-paced team which delivers financial and corporate communications support and advice to its clients. We value hard work, an entrepreneurial approach and the capacity to take on new ideas and develop knowledge. Equally, the team places great emphasis on its close-knit culture, which has been a key driver of its successful growth over the last 10+ years.  

You will be part of a wider network across the Dubai office, who sit in sector teams including retail and consumer, natural resources and energy, real estate, professional services, technology media and telecoms (TMT) and life sciences. The Strategic Communications practice also provides cross-sector support in digital communications, government relations, internal communications, ESG, research and crisis management. 

What You’ll Do 

You will play a fundamental role within your account teams, supporting your colleagues to deliver high-quality work to the different financial services clients we support. 

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Supporting the delivery of financial and corporate communications programmes by developing and maintaining media relationships, and securing opportunities for your clients to partake in wider industry debates through the media
  • Proactive media relations, engaging with media on a daily basis and keeping abreast of media moves and role/beat changes for journalists
  • Participating in preparations for reporting by our listed clients, including the drafting of investor perception audits and supporting in the successful delivery of results day media programmes
  • Engaging on the topics shaping the sector by contributing to news summaries and analyses, monitoring your clients’ peer and competitor activity, and delivering news reports and insights both internally and to external clients
  • Assisting senior team members in creatively preparing and delivering the client mandates, including draft press releases, draft media statements, media pitches and award entries
  • Compile client activity reports and helping to keep account teams on track with deliverables
  • Ensuring that critical resources (such as press lists, calendars for industry events, awards and conferences, and newshooks calendars) are kept updated for use by the wider financial services team
  • Actively participating in client, team and firm-wide initiatives to make a valuable and authentic contribution to working culture

In addition to day-to-day client responsibilities, you will have the opportunity to contribute to the growth of the team and broader FTI Consulting through new business development including:

  • Deliver research and contribute to new business pitch documents for the team as requested
  • Proactively network with media, capital markets and industry contacts, as well as potential clients
  • Participate in weekly team meetings by contributing ideas and client information with the team
  • Share knowledge, insights and experience with colleagues
  • Develop relationships with other teams within FTI, including ESG, public affairs, digital and employee engagement

What You Will Need to Succeed 

Experience

  • We ask that you have obtained a 2:1 degree (or equivalent) at any university or degree discipline
  • Previous experience in an in-house communications or PR agency role is preferred.

Professional Requirements

  • A desire to build your career in communications and PR, and specifically at FTI Consulting
  • A proven interest in working in communications through relevant work experience, whether at an industry level or through previous adjacent roles at university (or equivalent)
  • A proven interest in developing your knowledge of the financial services sector and the desire to develop excellent contacts with sector media

  • A desire to learn and the ability to grasp and succinctly summarise complex issues
  • Excellent organisational and time management skills and the ability to plan and prioritise a varied workload

  • Ability to work effectively individually, and as an integral part of a busy team

  • Creative flair and the ability to apply experience from different situations to solve new client problems
