Your role will be to support the delivery of commercial due diligence projects and ancillary consulting services to private equity houses, private equity portfolio companies and financial institutions across all sectors.

You will deliver services ranging across; quantitative and qualitative commercial due diligence, market, value creation and M&A strategy as well as support with assessments, performance improvement evaluations, operational due diligence, value creation planning, synergy development and implementation of value creation plans across the digital and non-digital functions.

By developing a personal client network, you will support business development activities to grow revenue for the team and assist in achieving the ambitious growth targets in this area.

As a Consultant or Senior Consultant, you will have responsibility for:

• Supporting work winning opportunities in the private equity space
• Assisting with design and delivery of analysis to support private equity clients and private equity portfolio companies with both buy and sell side transaction operational and commercial due diligence
• Assisting private equity clients and private equity portfolio companies in understanding the true operational capability of potential acquisition targets as well as existing owned businesses
• Working with private equity clients and private equity portfolio companies in the assessment and review of potential merger synergies, the impact and complexities of carve-outs on vendor and target organisations and the stand-alone performance improvement potential of buy-outs and private equity portfolio companies’ divestments
• Implementing growth strategies using a broad set of digital and non digital skills
• Supporting the creation of quality pitch documents to support work winning
• Working with colleagues from Transaction Services (Financial Due Diligence), Financial Advisory, Risk Advisory and the broader Deloitte network, to provide our clients with a holistic due diligence and strategy service with a coherent overview of the business operations, performance gaps and the potential for rapid improvement and value creation
• Building distinctive relationships with our private equity clients
• Assisting the Consulting Management group in developing and maintaining client relationships and supporting on business development opportunities
• Managing and operating within diverse teams within an inclusive team culture where people are recognised for their contribution

Essential:

• Strategy and Consulting background
• Experience of serving Private Equity clients
• Experience of how key Private Equity houses operate, and an excellent sector understanding of how these houses operate and transact
• Clear understanding of developing and creating strategy for Private Equity houses to deliver value creation
• Experience in commercial Due Diligence for Private Equity
• Experience across the full spectrum of M&A operations services (operational due diligence, operational performance improvement, value creation and synergies)
• Experience of platform investments, roll up, buy and build and carve out strategies
• Ability to support delivery of Digital transformation programmes
• Strong problem solving, business diagnostic and analytical skills
• Excellent financial analysis skills, with core experience of analysing and understanding financial statements particularly relating to operations and costs
• Experience of supporting business development and understanding business operations
• Self starter with a key ability to manage own workload and delegate where appropriate
• Experience of being a key member for best in class projects for clients
• Ability to operate and deliver results in a fast paced often fluid work environment
• Excellent communication skills both written and oral, with strong powerpoint presentation skills – creating meaningful decks which clearly communicate messages and findings
• Strong commercial acumen and project management capability with a track record of successful delivery
• Exceptional academic background
• Exemplary document, design and production skills
• Deep organisation and prioritisation skills
• Flexibility for international travel

Desirable:

• Experience of working across the M&A deal lifecycle and various capacities
• Experience in coaching, mentoring or counselling colleagues
• Focus in: Life Sciences, Fin Tech, and Tech
• Personal relationships within the Private Equity community

We are subject to a number of audit regulations, one of which requires that certain colleagues abide by specific personal independence constraints (e.g., in relation to any financial interests and employment relationships). Our hybrid working policy

You’ll be based in London with hybrid working. Our hybrid model enables our people to collaborate, connect and innovate in both a virtual and physical capacity. As well as remote working, you’ll attend your local office, virtual collaboration spaces and client sites, depending on the requirements of the role.
