Job Description:

• The multi-talented writer and editor will assist NOVA’s Office of Communications and Enrollment Marketing with writing and editing for all areas of the department, including internal, external, and student communications.
• Work closely with the associate director of external and executive communications to write compelling, concise content for the annual President’s Report.
• Work with NOVA’s current writer-editor to edit submitted articles for The Daily Flyer, NOVA’s faculty and staff newsletter (published twice weekly through Aug. 15, then daily starting Aug. 18).
• Familiarity with Smart Brevity and the Axios HQ platform will be a huge plus.
• Other duties:
• As needed, write and polish all types of college communications with extraordinary attention to detail; ensure all communications are clean, factually accurate, follow the Associated Press Style Guide, and align with the college’s style and voice.
• If needed, shepherd projects from content development to printing and distribution, which may include writing, editing, content approvals by relevant divisions, rewrites and more.

Required Skills:

• Must be familiar with Associated Press style.
• Willing to learn the Smart Brevity writing style and the Axios HQ platform.
• Must submit writing samples or a link to an online portfolio.
