Controlled Unclassified Information Specialist

Responsibilities

• Assists in developing and implementing CUI policies and procedures
• Ensures compliance with federal regulations and guidelines, including Executive Order 13556 and 32 CFR Part 2002
• Monitors and evaluates NSF’s CUI practices and processes to identify areas for improvement
• Conducts risk assessments to identify potential vulnerabilities related to handling and protecting CUI
• Develops and recommends mitigation strategies to address identified risks
• Develops and delivers training programs and materials to educate staff on CUI requirements and best practices
• Conducts regular CUI awareness sessions and refresher courses for employees and contractors
• Responds to and investigate CUI-related incidents, breaches, or violations
• Coordinates with relevant departments to implement corrective actions and prevent future incidents
• Works closely with other departments to ensure comprehensive protection of CUI
• Serves as a point of contact for CUI-related inquiries and issues

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science and/or 3-5 years of experience in Information Security, Information Management, or a related field
• Strong understanding of federal regulations and guidelines related to CUI
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to develop and deliver training programs
• Strong organizational and documentation skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Strong verbal presentation skills
• Extremely strong technical writing skills
• Must be able to obtain and maintain an Active Secret Clearance

Desired Qualifications:

• Secret Clearance preferred
