SUMMARY: The Controller is responsible for managing the Accounting department, ensuring the accuracy of financial reporting, and compliance with regulatory requirements. This position is an on-site position located in our headquarters in Chantilly, VA.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions of this position. 

• Prepare and analyze financial reports, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements, to provide insights into financial performance
• Oversee all accounts, ledgers, and reporting systems ensuring compliance with appropriate GAAP standards and regulatory requirements
• Maintain internal control and safeguards for receipt of revenue, costs and program budgets and actual expenditures
• Support and interact with auditors for annual financial and 401k audits and government audits
• Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local financial regulations and reporting requirements
• Develop and maintain accounting policies and procedures to ensure strong internal controls
• Conduct financial analysis to support business decision-making
• Be proficient in using Deltek Costpoint
• Lead the Accounting department and manage all personnel-related activities for the department??

NON-ESSENTIAL DUTIES:  Perform other duties as assigned
education AND experience: 

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, or related finance area
• 10+ years of experience as a Corporate Controller
• Strong understanding of GAAP and financial reporting principles
• Strong knowledge of U.S. Government Contract Accounting (FAR, DFAR, CAS)
• Working knowledge of accounting and finance best practices
• Strong organizational and multitasking skills
• Detail-oriented and able to perform in a high-pressure environment
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills

COMPUTER SKILLS:

• Skill in operating a personal computer and standard office equipment
• Must have proficiency in a variety of computer software applications in word processing and spreadsheets (Microsoft Office Suite: Word, Excel, Outlook)
