Controller in Pomona, California

Description

Robert Half is seeking a Controller/Consultant within the non-profit industry. The Consultant will be responsible for leading the month end close, balance sheet reconciliation and managing fixed assets. Additionally, the consultant will be the point person for the year end audit. This role will be onsite in Pomona, CA

Technical Skills:

• Lead month end close and all financial activities, including budgeting and year end audit

• Review and reconcile balance sheet accounts (AP, AR, Prepaids, Cash, and FA)

• Understanding of fund and grant accounting

• Experience in non-profit industry or Higher education ( big plus)

• Ability to manage and work with large data sets in excel

• Analyze financials and do flux analysis on both P& L and Balance sheet

• Present quarterly financials to CFO and board of directors

Soft Skills:

• Experience with Accounts Payable (AP) management.

• Proficiency in handling Accounts Receivable (AR).

• Demonstrable experience in Auditing processes.

• Proven ability to manage Budget Processes effectively.

• Skilled in performing Month-end Close Activities.

• Ability to prepare and manage Month-end Journal Entries.

• Experience in Monthly Account Reconciliation.

• Proficiency in Quarter-end accounting procedures.

• Experience in managing and facilitating Annual External Audit.
