Controller in Washington, District Of Columbia

Description

My client is looking for a Controller to join their team in Washington, DC. They are based in the non-profit industry and the ideal candidate for the Controller role will have experience within the non-profit realm and be responsible for overseeing the accounting department, maintaining the general ledger accounts, reconciling accounts payable and accounts receivable, assisting with month end close, posting journal entries and assisting with other ad hoc projects. Daily responsibilities of the Controller include:

· Assist with overseeing the accounting department.

· Perform month-end close.

· General ledger maintenance.

· Reconcile AP and AR accounts.

· Prepare financial statements.

· Research and maintaining compliance US GAAP.

Requirements

The ideal Controller we seek must have the following qualifications for consideration:

· 5+ years of accounting experience.

· Understanding of US GAAP.

· Non-Profit experience, required.

· Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance.
