RESPONSIBILITIES

I. JOB SUMMARY/RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Represents Nursing Services regarding systems design and implementation for new projects.

• Has administrative oversight, including planning, coordinating, implementing and evaluating nursing programs, projects, and systems, as assigned, including but not limited to 1) UKG (KRONOS) subject matter expert for nursing. Facilitates implementation and upgrades of UKG system and relevant modules (Advanced Scheduling, Timekeeping, Clinical Extensions, Attestation, Time & Attendance and others as indicated). This includes oversight for training and ongoing nursing operations. 2) Nursing information technology including CARE*Link systems and processes, and 3) Nursing Position Control, including maintenance, updates and modifications for all The Queen’s Medical Center (QMC) campuses.

• Responsible for data retrieval, analysis and presentation for nursing including position control, labor variance/productivity, contract labor (travelers), UKG, NDNQI and others as assigned.

• Partners with Finance to reconcile ODB budget variance data and annual budget planning.

• Participates in long term planning of assigned projects and programs for nursing and related hospital operations.

• Serves as a resource for nursing leaders and patient care departments for position control, labor variance reconciliation; ODB planning and modifications, contract labor, and liaison with Finance regarding unit budgets, capital requests, and business plans.

• Partners with Finance to analyze and prioritize new business opportunities, implement new services, develop and manage operating and capital budgets, and drive cost reduction efforts.

II. TYPICAL PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

• Occasional: walking, standing, stooping/bending, climbing stairs, lifting and carrying usual weight of 1 pound up to 5 pounds, reaching above, at and below shoulder level, frequent gripping of an object, static gripping of an object for prolonged periods.

III. TYPICAL WORKING CONDITIONS:

• Not substantially subjected to adverse environmental conditions.

IV. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

A. EDUCATION/CERTIFICATION AND LICENSURE:

• Bachelor’s degree in Nursing.

• Master’s degree or doctoral degree in Nursing or related health field preferred.

• Current Hawaii State license as a Registered Nurse.

B. EXPERIENCE:

• Three (3) years clinical nursing experience, including quality/performance improvement, patient safety and hospital information systems.

• Prior UKG and EPIC experience preferred.

• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, i.e. Word, Excel, PowerPoint.
