The Student Union serves as the hub for campus life at Pitt, providing a vibrant, inclusive environment where students can relax, socialize, and participate in a wide range of extracurricular activities. The union manages key facilities, including the Nordy’s and After-Hours spaces, which are dedicated to fostering student engagement through late-night programming, entertainment, and snack options. These spaces are vital to creating a safe and welcoming atmosphere for students after traditional campus hours, offering everything from casual study areas to live events.

Job Summary

Coordinates enrichment programs for students. Advises on, implements and facilitates student programs. Assists in policy and procedure development. Ensures adherence to regulations, guidelines, and curriculum standards. Coordinates and distributes support materials to promote enrichment programs. Assists with implementing training and development programs.

Essential Functions The Guest Services & Training Coordinator is a crucial member of the Student Unions team, responsible for organizing and managing events, ensuring legal and safety compliance, overseeing staff management, maintaining contracts, and developing training programs for student staff. This role requires a dynamic individual with excellent organizational and communication skills, capable of providing exceptional customer service and fostering a collaborative environment.

Physical Effort This position primarily involves some sedentary work in an office environment. However, the role is call for walking or standing, moving through the facility, checking on staff etc. The incumbent must be able to lift and carry items weighing up to 20 pounds, such as office supplies, small equipment, and documents. The role does not typically involve strenuous physical activity.

Hiring Range $41,000 – $44,968
