Job Description
The primary duties of the Corp Manager- Category Insights will be to proactively identify, articulate, and commercialize fact-based stories across category, channel, and assigned customers to maximize UNITED growth potential for region sales teams, NRS and marketing. The Manager- Category Insights will be the subject matter expert and lead on syndicated UNITED Nielsen data, providing leadership on insights reporting and annual planning in collaboration with the category team. The Manager- Category Insights will also be the lead related to the Nielsen Connect platform and all of its functions, including report creation, all training support, and interaction with NAOU/Nielsen IQ. This position will support Space Planning with data and insights and support the Director in advancing long-range strategic projects designed to help the organization reach financial goals. The role is part of a fast paced, high-performance team focused on strategic and tactical initiatives across the beverage portfolio, trade channels, customers, and all UNITED markets.
What your day will look like:
Own and manage process of advancing the integration of Nielsen Connect – end to end – training for users, contact with Nielsen support, leveraging new features to help UNITED’s business plans, communicate updates to UNITED teams as needed
Own and manage all corporate Nielsen reporting including report creation to regions, board of directors, provide training where needed, distribution of reports, and the associated processes with these routines
Own and manage process of maintaining ongoing strict quality standards working directly with Nielsen to address quality issues and accelerate enhancements to deliver insights
Own and manage process of updating market definitions, clusters, facts, product groupings, and other relevant metrics as part of the processes ensuring we have all content up to date
Lead annual insights planning process supporting NRS team with syndicated Nielsen category insights covering categories, channels, and competition as needed. Coordinate with NRS to confirm topics of interest and insights details and category insights analyst for support
Customer-facing syndicated insights expert when requested to support sales organization communicating customer or channel insights, supporting selling stories, and assisting with specific UNITED business initiatives where syndicated data can help secure alignment on our business strategies
Advance routine intelligence and coverage across brands through proactive research delivering reporting (brand scorecards) and creation of Nielsen selling stories when needed mining Nielsen data for opportunities and gaps. Support requests for Nielsen brand insights from the Category Director, Senior Director of Marketing, corporate marketing brand leads, and region marketing teams
Develop and lead the process of regular monitoring of the health of our brands through a full category and competitive landscape lens “seeing smoke before the fire” first to call out gaps and opportunities before they progress
Respond to ad hoc customer requests for cleansing data, insights, and information coordinating with analyst. Participate in meetings (online and in person) and cultivate strong long-term relationships with sales teams, marketing, and retail customers
Work with the Director on category projects and long-range strategic initiatives including research, presentations, and other initiatives as assigned
Performs appropriate duties as assigned by management
What you need to succeed:
Minimum age 18 years old
Valid driver’s license required and obligation to maintain compliance with UNITED fleet policy

Bachelor’s degree (B.A.) from four-year College or university; or 7+ year’s related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
7+ years of experience working for a CPG company or supplier in an analytical role with customer facing experience preferably in category leadership, category development, or retail insights
Ability to leverage resources and databases to deliver fact-based informative stories across knowledge and insights from syndicated data to a variety of cross-functional teams
Ability to generate thought leadership and inspire teams to see the opportunities from the data. Build the story
Ability to collaborate via insights with space planning and customer facing roles to support advancing strategic initiatives
Exceptional analytical capabilities with database experience preferred. High degree of functionality/ advanced expertise in excel, power point, word, and PowerBI required
Strong working knowledge of syndicated data (Nielsen preferred), and data analytics software preferred across multiple business channels and customers
Abilit to act as lead on syndicated data integrity and data quality including routine audits and field inquiry follow up as needed from the regions
Ability to influence internal and external customers via in person meetings, presentations, and email communication as required
Creative problem solver who can proactively define, assess, solve, and communicate effectively
Superior presentation skills including online and live formats across a variety of multi-functional teams
Strong attention to detail, organizational, and planning skills
Ability to manage self to commitments and deadlines moving projects forward to completion
Ability to travel up to 30%

Position will be required to comply with the CCBCU Personal Protective Equipment Program. Position is required to wear safety toed shoes when performing the following tasks: Operating Powered Industrial Equipment or Working in an Area where Powered Industrial Equipment is in use, Fleet Maintenance, Working with Palletized Product, Use of Hand Trucks/Dollies to Deliver Product, Cooler Services, etc.
