Location: Chillicothe, OH 45601
Shift: Standard Shift  (Monday-Friday, 8-hour)
Duration: Projected to last at least 6 months.
Job Description:

• We are seeking a Family or Adult-Gerontology Nurse Practitioner licensed in Ohio with at least one year of NP experience in a primary care setting or hospital medicine to provide on-site services to the male population.

Role & Responsibilities:

• Chronic Illness Management: Monitor the progress and intervene in chronic illness treatment using ODRC policies and protocols.
• Medical Care: Administer vaccinations, prescribe medications, treat both acute and chronic conditions, and perform minor surgeries as competencies allow.
• Examinations: Perform routine physical exams and diagnose new conditions.
• Specialty Referrals: Evaluate the need for specialty consultations, both inside and outside the institution, and approve or disapprove consult reports as necessary.
• Diagnostic Testing: Order and review lab, X-ray, and other diagnostic results.
• Reclassification & Medications: Work with the Chief Medical Officer (CMO) to facilitate medical reclassification and requests for non-formulary medications.
• Emergency Care: Provide routine and emergency medical care to patients as scheduled.
• Patient Documentation: Write detailed medical reports according to ODRC guidelines and American Correctional Association standards.
• Quality Oversight: Cooperate with CMO oversight and accept suggestions for redirection and improvement.

Skills/Requirements:

• education: Master’s Degree required.
• Experience: At least one year of NP experience in primary care or hospital medicine.
• Licensing: Current Ohio Nurse Practitioner License.

Certifications:

• BLS/CPR Certification (Healthcare Professional Level)
• ANCC Certificate
• Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) Certification
• US Passport or Naturalization Card (if born outside the US)
