Corrections Electronics Trade Instructor – SCI Camp Hill

This position provides instruction and supervision in the electronics trade through classroom teaching and on-the-job training. The work includes equipment repair, project planning, recordkeeping, and oversight of inmate work crews. As a Corrections Electronics Trade Instructor, you will perform the following duties:

• Trade Instruction: Teach standard electronics practices and guide hands-on repair and installation tasks
• Work Supervision: Lead inmate crews, assign tasks, and inspect completed work
• Tool Control: Issue, track, and verify all tools and materials used in training and work assignments
• System Maintenance: Maintain and repair electronic systems such as alarms, cameras, door controls, and communication equipment
• Project Planning: Determine needed materials, submit purchase requests, and manage parts inventories
• Documentation Work: Maintain training records, attendance, inventory logs, and repair documentation

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

• Full-time employment, 40 hours per week
• Work hours are 7:30 AM to 3:30 PM, Monday – Friday.
• This position is eligible for full retirement benefits at age 50 or 55.
• Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.
• Salary: Selected candidates who are new to employment with the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania will begin employment at the starting annual salary of $51,868.00 (before taxes)

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

• Three years of experience in the testing and repair of electronic equipment; or
• An equivalent combination of experience and training.

Other Requirements:

• Successful completion of basic training in Elizabethtown, PA is required.

• You must be able to perform essential job functions.

• You must pass a background investigation and meet Criminal Justice Information Services (CJIS) compliance requirements.
