Due to a high demand, Academics are actively recruiting cover supervisors to work in variety of schools in the Leeds and Wakefield areas. Cover Supervisors play a vital role within schools and are required to carry out pre planned lessons for short term teacher absences. The role of a cover supervisor is a great step for those who are aspiring to be teachers as well as recent graduates who are looking to gain classroom experience.Your main responsibilities as a cover supervisor will involve the following:

• Creating a positive learning environment for the students and helping them develop with their academic studies
• Supervising student’s behaviour and referring to the schools behaviour management policy if required
• Displaying subject knowledge to students across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4
• Following the schools safeguarding policies, ensuring a safe environment for the students

Qualities and attributes we are looking for as a cover supervisor:

• Flexibility to cover multiple subjects and to correspond with any last minute requirements
• Excellent communication skills with a passion for making an impact on student’s lives
• Previous experience preferred, but not essential
• A university degree
• An enhanced DBS on the update service, or willing to apply to one
