JoB Summary:
The Manager I, Donor Events & Engagement designs and executes a diverse portfolio of activities that build meaningful connections between Catholic Relief Services and its private donors. As part of Charitable Giving’s Strategy, Campaigns and Events Unit, this position will work to amplify messaging for a potential Comprehensive Fundraising Campaign that will  deepen donors’ relationships with CRS and its mission.  The Manager I position provides important support and backstops in the coordination of VIP Donor trips. The position is based in Baltimore, with the opportunity for remote work.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

EVENTS & DONOR ENGAGEMENT:

  • Lead design and creation of a suite of events and touchpoints that engage donors during all points of the donor lifecycle (identification, cultivation, solicitation, stewardship) to advance a potential comprehensive fundraising campaign and more deeply engage supporters with CRS’ strategic vision and priorities. Dynamic experiences could include: small-group online events, large-scale webinars, occasional in-person gatherings, and other virtual engagement opportunities.
  • Lead development of custom engagement and outreach for various audiences in collaboration with fundraisers in Annual Giving, Hispanic Development, Planned Giving and Middle Donors, with support from the CG Content Team.
  • Collaborate with CG Content Team, managing production of key deliverables for above tactics, specifically: invitation language and design, short videos, event scripting, briefing books, promotional materials, thank you communications and webinar recordings.
  • With support from CG Analytics, refine the system for measurement of all event engagement opportunities and communicate data on a regular basis with Leadership.
  • Create and manage email outreach for using Stensul and EveryAction platforms.
  • Advise CRS staff and guest donor speakers as they represent the agency, providing insight into donor-centered content.
  • Lead selection process, contract negotiation and operations with all in-person event vendors (AV, caterers, photographers) to ensure seamless event execution.

CAMPAIGN:

  • Collaborate with Campaign Director to advance Comprehensive Campaign special projects to include work with multiple Charitable Giving teams, as well as within other divisions within CRS.
  • Oversee creation and implementation of customized Comprehensive Campaign website.

DONOR TRAVEL:

  • Act as backstop to current Officer II, Donor Engagement and Events to include:
    • In collaboration with Overseas Operations and Charitable Giving staff, assist in the coordination efforts for donors to visit CRS programs overseas as designated.
    • Coordinate with CRS Country Program staff to ensure all logistics including pre/post travel, on-site events, briefing books etc. are well planned and managed with timely communication to the donors traveling.
    • Assist in assessing the impact and return on investment of CRS donor trips, events and OverOps engagement tours on philanthropy Leadership Giving.
    • Support all elements of virtual travel activities including program design, speaker training, marketing, donor support, attendee tracking, session implementation etc.

KEY WORKING RELATIONSHIPS

The position reports to the Campaign Director as part of a team with Officer II, Donor Engagement and Events and Officer I, Donor Events and Operations, and has a close relationship to the Sr. Advisor for Strategy and Divisional Affairs.  The position works closely with colleagues across all areas of Charitable Giving, and communicates with Overseas Operations, Mission and Mobilization, and the Office of the President.

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field required.
  • Minimum of four-six years of relevant work experience required
  • minimum of two years of supervisory/management experience.

CRS offers are contingent on the selected candidate’s ability to legally work where the position is to be performed.
