The Role

As a CT Technologist, you will perform routine to complex CT procedures for the diagnosis of disease and injuryin accordance withestablished protocols, under the direction of a radiologist, in a busy educational hospital setting.

Your work will include:

  • Performing a wide variety of CT examinations in afast-pacedacademic imaging department supporting trauma, inpatient, outpatient, and specialty services

  • Operating advanced CT equipment and adhering toestablishedprotocols to consistently producehigh-qualitydiagnostic images

  • Preparing, positioning, and educating patients to ensure safety, comfort, andoptimalimaging outcomes

  • Establishing IV access and administering contrast media under physician direction

  • Conducting quality assurance checks on equipment and procedure areas while ensuring all safety standards are met

  • Collaborating closely with radiologists, physicians, nurses, residents, and fellow technologists as part of an integrated care team

  • Supporting UVA Health’s teaching mission by instructing students and residents and serving as a preceptor as needed

  • Assistingwith supply inventory management andparticipatingin ongoing service and process improvement initiatives

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

Education: Associate’s Degree preferred.

Experience: None required

Licensure: Registered Radiologic Technologist through the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT R.T.) required. ARRT (CT) certification required within one year of hire. American Heart Association (AHA) Health Care Provider BLS certification required.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

Job requires standing for prolonged periods, frequently bending/stooping, reaching (overhead, extensive, and repetitive); Repetitive motion: (computer keyboard). Proficient communicative, auditory and visual skills; Attention to detail and ability to write legibly; Ability to lift/push/pull 50 – 100lbs. May be exposed to cold, dust, noise, radiation, blood/body fluids and infectious disease.

The starting base rate for this role is $35.00 hourly. Individual compensation will be determined by the selected candidate’s qualifications, previous work experience, and/or education.
