Duties and Responsibilities
Responsibilities of the internship position encompass all aspects of the Directorates work. These responsibilities may include, but are not limited to: • Assist in analysing and interpreting international, regional and domestic legal instruments. • Assist in planning and organising meetings, briefings, roundtables, seminars and other CTED events • Assist in preparing documents arrangements for the organization of CTC/CTED meetings, briefings, roundtables, seminars and other events: • Assist in preparing background notes, talking points for meetings, missions and other events attended by CTED staff; • Conducting research to contribute to CTED analytical products on trends and developments in terrorism and counter-terrorism. • Research, draft and update country profiles and other background documents in preparation for high-level meetings and other events; • Assist with preparing infographics and visual aids for CTED documents and presentations; • Attend and take notes at meetings, conferences and other events; assist in the preparation of summaries and reports of discussions; • Assist in other ad-hoc activities as instructed.
Qualifications/special skills
Applicants are not required to have professional work experience for participation in the internship programme. However, applicants are encouraged to list all relevant work experience in their UN professional history profile (PHP).
Languages
English and French are the working languages of the United Nations Secretariat. For this internship, fluency in English is required.

Interns are not financially remunerated by the United Nations. Costs and arrangements for travel, visas, accommodation and living expenses are the responsibility of interns or their sponsoring institutions. Interns who are not citizens or permanent residents of the country where the internship is undertaken, may be required to obtain the appropriate visa and work/employment authorization. Successful candidates should discuss their specific visa requirements before accepting the internship offer.
