position SUMMARY

The Custodian is responsible for maintaining a clean, sanitary, and orderly Bauer campus. This includes cleaning floors, restrooms, break areas, offices, and common areas, managing trash and recycling. The Custodian ensures a clean and safe environment for all employees and visitors and supports the Maintenance Department with cleanliness-related tasks both inside and outside of the facility.

 

JOB FUNCTIONS

Include the following, but other duties may be assigned.

· Regular and Reliable Attendance

· Perform general custodial duties including sweeping, mopping, dusting, vacuuming, and trash removal

· Clean and sanitize restrooms, break rooms, kitchens, and other communal areas.

· Restock supplies such as soap, paper towels, and toilet paper in the restrooms.

· Clean glass surfaces and windows.

· Monitor and maintain cleanliness of outside walkways and building entrances.

· Turn off all lights and secure campus daily

· Ensure proper storage and use of cleaning materials and supplies

· Report any maintenance or safety issues to the Facilities Manager promptly.

· Maintain equipment such as floor scrubbers and vacuums in good working conditions.

· Follow established procedures for the use of chemical cleaners and power equipment.

· Adhere to all safety, health, and environmental policies and procedures.

· Perform other duties as assigned

· Manages and provided guidance and support to the Custodial staff

· Manage timesheets and time-off request
 

ESSENTIAL SKILLS AND experience

· High School diploma or equivalent (GED) required.

· A minimum of six (6) months’ janitorial/custodial experience.

· Ability to follow verbal and written instructions.

· Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

· Good communication skills.

· Knowledge of cleaning chemicals and safe handling procedures.
