What you’ll do
We have an open position for a Cyber Security Engineer. This position will support and manage all aspects of cyber security for large scale turnkey system integration (SI) telecoms projects across the world. Working in collaboration with the projects group to ensure effective delivery of projects and services to customers.
The day-to-day
- Provide Cyber Security support for turnkey system integration (SI) telecoms projects
- Support and manage the security design, implementation and testing of telecoms systems.
- Preperation of security documentation, security specifications, test procedures, network drawings, asset inventories, self assessments, and provide input or peer review of other project documents.
- Liase with suppliers and third parties to ensure that customer requirements are met
- Travel and attend client meetings, review meetings, vendor system FATs as required.
- Conducting security testing (network/port scanning, vulnerability scanning, network stress testing)
- Knowledge of industry standard Risk Assessment approaches such as NIST 800-30.
- Knowledge of industry standards such as NIST CSF, NIST RMF, ISO 27000, IEC 62443
- Experience configuring and securing Windows OS, Linux OS, Network Equipment (Switches, Routers, Firewalls), and embedded devices.
- Comprehensive understanding of Technical, Administrative and Physical controls to safeguard data and systems.
- Ability to drive assessments through interviews and relationships to understand and quantify appropriate risks.
- Research general and industry specific security trends
- Stay up to date with the latest security threats and vulnerabilities
- Ability to clearly communicate security requirements to project teams and vendors
- Support project teams with various tasks if needed, for example networking and systems.
- Provide support to bids team for proposals
- Provide support to wider security team as and when required
What you’ll need
- IT related degree or equivalent experience
- Cyber security certifications such as CISSP, CRISC, CISA, Security+, CEH.
- At least 5 years of experience in information technology supporting networks and systems
- Experience of working on industrial projects (oil and gas, manufacturing, renewables, etc)
- Experience with Telecoms systems (PAGA, CCTV, ACS, Radio, LAN, WAN, IDS, etc)
Working conditions are normal for an office environment. Work may require occasional overnight travel and weekend and/or evening work.
Physical Requirements:
Description: This position requires a moderate amount of stamina with the ability to perform the above essential job functions and within timetables.
Lifting: The employee must be able to lift up to 5 lbs. frequently and up to 25 lbs. occasionally for short durations.
Carrying: The employee must be able to carry up to 5 lbs. frequently and up to 25 lbs. occasionally for short distances.
Pushing/Pulling: The employee must be able to push/pull up to 5 lbs. frequently and up to 25 lbs. occasionally usually from desk level to floor or floor to desk level.
Other Physical Requirements: Upper extremity usage, motor coordination, range of motion, vision, hearing and balance should be in arange to safely preclude the harm or injury to the employee in this position or the harm
or injury to other employees.
Environmental Considerations: The employee will in most cases work in a central air-conditioned building; however, may be exposed to dust, fumes or gases and to changes of weather when exposed to outdoors at job sites or other locations.
