Position Summary:

Applied Training Solutions, LLC is seeking a Cybersecurity Specialist to coordinate with Emergency Support Function (ESF) 20 and other State Emergency Response Team (SERT) partners. The role involves assisting with incident response and remediation related to cybersecurity threats and vulnerabilities, and providing input to support strategic, tactical, and operational intelligence efforts to deliver timely, actionable information.

Key Responsibilities:

• Coordinate with ESF 20 and SERT partners during cybersecurity incidents
• Support the identification, containment, and remediation of cyber threats and vulnerabilities
• Provide input on cybersecurity strategy, planning, and incident response protocols
• Assist in the development and dissemination of cybersecurity situational reports and intelligence products
• Collaborate with federal, state, and local cybersecurity teams and stakeholders
• Monitor cybersecurity threats and contribute to real-time risk assessments
• Participate in training, exercises, and preparedness activities
• Maintain documentation to support incident response, after-action review, and cost recovery

Basic Qualifications:

• 3+ years of experience in cybersecurity or information security roles
• Experience with cybersecurity incident response and remediation procedures
• Understanding of current cybersecurity threats, vulnerabilities, and risk mitigation strategies
• Strong analytical and communication skills
• Familiarity with federal and state cybersecurity frameworks
• Must be a U.S. citizen

Preferred Qualifications:

• Certifications such as CISSP, CEH, Security+, or similar
• Experience working in an Emergency Operations Center or government cybersecurity environment
• Knowledge of NIST and other industry cybersecurity standards
• Experience coordinating with law enforcement or intelligence agencies on cyber matters

• Travel Required: Yes – up to 100% while on assignment

Working Environment:

The work environment includes Emergency Operations Centers (EOCs), cybersecurity command posts, and office settings. Extended hours and travel may be required during emergency activations across the continental United States and its territories.
