*Responsibilities*
* Maintain and support Azure SQL and Oracle databases, ensuring high availability and data integrity.
* Perform routine database operations, including backups, restores, patches, and updates.
* Monitor database performance and proactively resolve issues.
* Optimize SQL queries, indexes, and schema designs for improved system efficiency.
* Implement and monitor database security standards, access controls, and compliance measures.
* Document database processes, configurations, and operational procedures.
* Collaborate with developers, system administrators, and cross-functional IT teams.
* Participate in disaster recovery planning, testing, and readiness activities.
* Stay current with industry best practices and new database technologies.
* Perform additional tasks as assigned.
*Requirements*
* 3-5 years of professional experience as a Database Administrator.
* Strong hands-on experience with *Azure SQL* and *Oracle* database administration.
* Expertise in performance tuning, query optimization, and capacity planning.
* Experience with database backup, restore, and disaster recovery processes.
* Familiarity with database monitoring tools and cloud-based management solutions.
* Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills for complex database issues.
* Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain technical concepts clearly.
* Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, IT, or a related field.
*Additional Details*
* *Work Hours:* Standard business hours; occasional evenings/weekends as needed.
* *Travel:* Not required.
* *Environment:* Professional team-based IT environment.
* *Budget Responsibilities:* Assist in optimizing costs associated with database resources and tooling.

This is a Contract position based out of Honolulu, HI.
*Pay and Benefits*The pay range for this position is $27.00 – $35.00/hr.
