DataCenter Engineer

Cognizant is seeking a Data Center Engineer for a full-time opportunity in San Jose, CA. This is an onsite role and will require the candidate to work from the office.

The annual salary for this position is between $95,000 to $ 115,000 depending on experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate.

This position is also eligible for Cognizant’s discretionary annual incentive program, based on performance and subject to the terms of Cognizant’s applicable plans.

The Data Center Engineer will perform the day-to-day tasks below and be part of a larger team spanning across the globe.

Key Responsibilities:

• Equipment Moves, Installation and Setup
• Troubleshooting and Break Fix Tasks
• Decommissioning and Disposal
• Maintenance and Repairs
• Monitoring and Reporting
• Inventory Asset Management
• Emergency Response
• Lab Cleanliness and Safety
• Basic Testbed Support

Qualifications:

Candidates applying to this role should have knowledge/skill in the following areas:’

• Installation and configuration of hardware components such as servers, routers, and switches
• Installation and upgrade of IOS, OS, ESXi
• Help to replicate or build configurations based on customer requirement.
• Installation and networking of Managed Power Distribution Unites mPDUs
• Intra and Inter lab equipment and rack moves
• Cable management, including running, organizing, topology clean-up, and labelling network cables
• Troubleshooting and Break Fix Tasks
• Conduct basic diagnostics to identify hardware issues.
• Network debugging, tracking layer 1 to 3 issues
• Router, Switch, installation and upgrade experience is must
• Rack & Stack, PDU installation experience is must
• Should have experience in labelling inventory tracking for components and devices inside Data Center.
