Our client, a dynamic coeducational all-through school and sixth form based in Chatteris, is seeking to appoint an ambitious and experienced Deputy Head of Maths to support the leadership of a thriving Mathematics department. This is a fantastic opportunity for a passionate Maths teacher with leadership aspirations to play a key role in shaping teaching and learning across KS3, KS4 and KS5.
The successful candidate will work closely with the Head of Department to support curriculum planning, raise standards of achievement, and mentor team members, while continuing to deliver excellent Maths teaching.Key ResponsibilitiesSupport the strategic leadership of the Maths department, ensuring high-quality teaching and strong student outcomesDeliver inspiring and effective Maths lessons across KS3–KS5Assist with curriculum development, assessment strategies, and data analysisMentor and support colleagues, including ECTs and support staffMonitor and promote high standards of teaching, learning, and behaviour across the departmentContribute to whole-school improvement initiatives and leadership responsibilitiesIdeal CandidateQualified Teacher Status (QTS) and a strong academic background in Mathematics or a related subjectProven track record of delivering excellent outcomes in Maths at secondary or sixth form levelExperience in a middle leadership role or readiness to step into leadershipStrong understanding of curriculum planning, assessment, and data-led improvementEffective communication, organisational, and interpersonal skillsA collaborative approach with a drive to raise standards and inspire othersWhy Join Our Client?Supportive and forward-thinking leadership teamClear opportunities for leadership development and career progressionA high-performing, well-resourced department with motivated studentsA collaborative and innovative staff culture in an all-through school environmentApply Now
