Robert Half is seeking a Desktop Support Analasyt for our client in the Biotech space. This Desktop Support Role is a contract to hire opportunity and sits out of Brisbane, Ca. The Desktop Support candidate should ideally have 4-5 years of experience in providing IT Support to an enterprise organization of 100+ people across multiple locations and time zones. This Desktop Support Analyst will support end users both in person and remotely.
The Desktop Support Candidate must have the necessary soft skills and knowledge to provide front line end-to-end IT operational support at all levels of an organization. Develop and configure Windows 11 images for laptop and desktop deployments in accordance with SOPs.
Create and configure Apple OS images for laptops, ensuring seamless domain integration.
Set up applications and services for end-user deployments, including O365, MS Office, Project, Visio, Box, Okta, Adobe products, SharePoint, CrowdStrike, Symantec, Sophos, Zoom, Teams, and DocuSign.
Manage Active Directory objects, including user account creation, group assignments, and attribute management.
Provide support for both on-site and remote users across the US and EU via Zoom, Teams, and Ninja.
Troubleshoot end-user laptops, software configurations, applications, and services.
Provide audiovisual support for Teams and Zoom deployments.
Adhere to established processes for user and asset lifecycle management, including provisioning, onboarding, offboarding, and retirement.
Ensure helpdesk activities comply with IT SOPs and industry standards.
Assist in updating and maintaining Helpdesk SOPs and technical deployment documents to support SOX compliance.
Support asset recovery and redeployment efforts.
Perform laptop upgrades for end users as needed.
Assist with the setup, logistics, and teardown of large meetings.
Provide support for periodic password changes, MFA rollouts, and on-demand application deployments.
Requirements
Technical Responsibilities for Desktop Support Analyst:
Administer and manage Active Directory, including object creation, maintenance, and deprovisioning.
Oversee Box administration, including user and object management.
Manage Okta for end-user onboarding, app assignments, group memberships, and application publishing.
Provide O365 and Azure administration, including email, SharePoint, distribution lists, and security group management.
Soft Skills:
Capable of providing IT support across all levels of the organization.
Highly organized, detail-oriented, and efficient with time management.
Must maintain a professional appearance and demeanor in a business casual environment. While the end users are great to work with, professionalism in conduct is essential.
Nice to have: Prior experience in Life Sciences or a regulated industry would be beneficial.
Passionate about technology and staying up to date with evolving IT trends and best practices.
Strong verbal and written communication skills adaptable to various audiences.
Able to provide high-level IT support in a fast-paced setting while maintaining patience and composure with users.
Flexible and adaptable to evolving technology and work environments.
Experience & Qualifications:
Industry-related degree, certifications, or equivalent experience.
Strong experience supporting Windows 10, Windows, and macOS in an enterprise environment.
Solid administrative experience with Okta, Box, Active Directory, Zoom, Teams, Office 365, Azure, MFA, Project, Visio, and Sophos.
Experience establishing or supporting Tier II Helpdesk operations across multiple time zones.
Skilled in deploying applications, platforms, and handling larger IT projects.
(Nice to have) Previous experience as a Junior Systems Administrator is beneficial but can be learned on the job.
Ad-Hoc Requirements (Occasional Duties):
May need to provide after-hours support for users and projects during peak periods (these are pre-planned exceptions).
May be required to support EU-based users during normal business hours when needed.
Expected to be on-site in Brisbane, CA, five days a week, though partial remote work may be considered in the future.
May assist with ad hoc project work as required.
Nice-to-Have Skills:
Candidates with prior experience or an interest in gaining knowledge in the following areas are highly desirable:
Systems administration for Windows Server 2016/2019 (including permissions, DNS, DHCP, user management, security, NPS).
Network technologies and related support.
Virtualization technologies, particularly VMware.
Lab-deployed applications.
Industry-specific applications used in Life Sciences, which would be valuable for those looking to gain experience in this field.
