Details Mission and objectives UNICEF in Turkey works to protect the rights of children and adolescents in Turkey since 1951. UNICEF’s programme in Turkey focuses on the needs of the most vulnerable children in the areas of education, child protection, health care, social policy, adolescents and youth, in line with the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child. Context The Regional Office for Europe and Central Asia (ECARO) supports Country Offices and Governments to advance towards the full realization of all child rights across the region. The Regional Office plays both a technical advisory and oversight role, guiding country offices in designing, implementing and documenting results for children. The Technology for Learning and Development (T4L&D) Officer will be part of the ECARO Human Resources (HR) Team. Under the supervision of the HR Specialist, the T4L&D Officer will support the implementation of the 2024-2025 ECAR Learning Strategy, by implementing technology solutions that improve efficiency and internal communication, coordinating learning initiatives, monitoring and reporting on learning data, supporting effective project management, and providing overall support to ECARO HR to build and sustain an effective learning and development culture. Task description • Design, create and maintain the Europe and Central Asia Region (ECAR) Learning Intranet page (on Microsoft Sharepoint) and the ECAR Learning Calendar up to date. • Supports project management for learning and development (L&D) initiatives in the Region, organizing timelines, tracking deadlines and following up on agreed actions. • Develops communication/internal marketing materials related to the implementation of ECAR’s Regional Learning Strategy. • Designs and develops online tools and dashboard to facilitate nominations, invitations and enrollments for ECAR learning initiatives/programmes. • Designs and develops an online tools and dashboards to gather and analyze impact from the ECAR learning initiatives/programmes for further dissemination with ECAR Chief of HR and ECARO HR learning focal point.. • Liaise with external coaches, facilitates the connection between coaches and staff as appropriate. • Performs other duties as required related to activities on technology for learning and development. Furthermore, UN Volunteers are encouraged to integrate the UN Volunteers programme mandate within their assignment and promote voluntary action through engagement with communities in the course of their work. As such, UN Volunteers should dedicate a part of their working time to some of the following suggested activities: – Strengthen their knowledge and understanding of the concept of volunteerism by reading relevant UNV and external publications and take active part in UNV activities (for instance in events that mark International Volunteer Day, 5th of December). – Be acquainted with and build on traditional and/or local forms of volunteerism in the host country. – Provide annual and end of assignment self-reports on UN Volunteer actions, results and opportunities (for instance at https://vra.unv.org), – Contribute articles/wrjte-ups on field experiences and submit them for UNV publications/websites, newsletters, press releases, etc. – Assist with the UNV Buddy Programme for newly arrived UN Volunteers. – Promote or advise local groups in the use of online volunteering or encourage relevant local individuals and organizations to use the UNV Online Volunteering service whenever technically possible.
