AARP’s Policy, Research and International Affairs leads the development and communication of AARP’s public policies and, research and insights on the issues that matter to people 50-plus.
AARP’s policy team is looking for a graduate or law school intern to help analyze and develop public policies that form the foundation of AARP’s work to empower people age 50 and older to choose how they live as they age. Working with the Office of Policy Development & Integration (OPDI), you will participate in the policy development process, researching and recommending policies in our three issue areas: economic (budget/taxation, savings/retirement security, employment, and low-income assistance programs); health (Medicare, Medicaid, prescription drugs, long-term services and supports, and caregiving); and consumer (financial services, elder abuse prevention, utilities, livable communities, housing, transportation, and elections/voting). This paid internship has an anticipated start date of June 2025 and will go through the end of the summer.

Hybrid Work Environment
AARP observes Mondays and Fridays as remote workdays, except for essential functions. Remote work can only be done within the United States and its territories.
Compensation and Benefits
The hourly range is $18 for undergraduates, $21 for graduate students, and $28 for Ph.D. candidates. Internships are non-exempt positions and are not eligible for employee benefits.
